Rick Cruz has spent the past five years helping people buy and sell homes throughout South Jersey. Before real estate, he worked in training and development with new employees, a background that fits naturally with the way he works today. He pays attention to the details, works through problems as they come up, and isn't afraid to think outside the box when a transaction gets complicated.
Rick grew up in Somerdale and now lives in Magnolia, surrounded by four generations of family. Family is a big part of his life, and somehow they still manage to get everyone together for a multigenerational family vacation every year.
His roots in South Jersey run deep. Rick especially enjoys working in the area's smaller boroughs, including Magnolia, Oaklyn, Runnemede, and Stratford. Oaklyn is a particular favorite for its older homes, nearby main street, lake, and easy access to Route 295. He's also active in his own community through the Magnolia Historical Society, Magnolia Little League, and the American Legion.
Rick's advice to buyers is to do the financial homework before looking at the first house. Knowing where you stand from the beginning makes it much easier to focus on homes that make sense for you. Once a deal is underway, his favorite part is the problem-solving. Inspections, negotiations, and the unexpected issues that pop up along the way are where he gets to dig in, find a solution, and keep things moving toward the closing table.
When he's not working, Rick enjoys camping, kayaking, and spending some time with his acoustic guitar. He's equally on board with a coffee meeting or happy hour because, to him, both are a good excuse to connect with people. Whether he's an early bird or a night owl depends on the plans. Early mornings are for time with his wife, while guys' night tends to run a little later.
As for his own dream home wish list, Rick keeps it practical: a two-car garage with electricity and heat. And when it comes to a familiar local spot, you might find him grabbing a bite at Applebee's
